Join us this Friday, April 22nd at 9 AM EST for a special Earth Day event featuring young climate and gender equity advocates as they issue calls to action from around the world.
As the climate crisis intensifies, its roots in a system of injustice become more obvious. Wealthy nations produce the majority of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, while poorer nations suffer the worst impacts of environmental degradation, food and water insecurity, extreme weather and geopolitical instability. Young people worldwide face an uncertain future. They are calling upon world leaders for sweeping changes to underlying systems of inequity that have given rise to climate change. Their demand is for climate justice – not as a utopian dream, but an urgent imperative – for all life on Earth.
In this virtual conversation, hear from Future Rising Fellows, activists Julieta Martinez and Valentina Figueroa from Tremendas, Isaac Ssentumbwe of the Rise Up movement and water conservationist Emily Tianshi about what we must LEARN and UNLEARN to Remake The World for a sustainable future.
